The Crash of Rhinos Standard

7 sections38 standards

Standards, not claims.

Most painting companies make claims. Quality work. Experienced crews. Two coats. Best price. Every one of those is unverifiable at the point of sale. You have no way to know if they're true — and neither does the company, because they haven't defined what they mean.

We make standards. A standard is specific. A standard is measurable. A standard either happened or it didn't. We publish ours because we are confident enough in our work to be held to them — in writing, on every job, without exception.

Before we tell you anything about paint, let us tell you about money — because it is the part of hiring a contractor that should make you nervous, and with us, it doesn't have to.

  • 1.1

You Pay Nothing to Start. Nothing at All.

No deposit when you sign. No money for materials. Nothing when we show up on day one. Most contractors ask for money at signing and a large payment — often half — before they have done a thing. We don't. We buy your paint, we deliver it, we prep your home, and we paint it — all before you have paid a single dollar.

  • 1.2

You Pay When the Job Is 100% Complete — and You Decide When That Is.

Payment comes due only after the final walkthrough, when you have seen the finished work with your own eyes and signed off that it is done to your satisfaction. Not when we say it is done. When you say it is done. For exactly how your job ends — the walk-through, the sign-off, and what you receive — see our Completion Standard.

  • 1.3

The Price on Your Proposal Is the Price You Pay.

It does not change unless you change something. We put the work into getting every detail right before we start, so surprise charges essentially never happen — and they can never happen to you, because the only thing that changes a price is a change you ask for and approve in writing.

  • 1.4

    No Pressure. Ever.

We will never tell you the price goes up if you don't sign today. We don't do high-pressure sales, because we don't need to. Financing is available if you'd like it — entirely your choice, never a push. Take the time you need. The offer is the offer.

This is only possible because we are confident in our work and we run a business that does not need your money to fund your job. When a contractor asks for a big check up front, ask yourself why. We'd rather earn the check by finishing the work.
