The Products We Use

Most painting companies won't tell you what's going on your house — or they use an unnamed "contractor grade" paint you can't look up. We do the opposite. Every product we use is named on your proposal, by manufacturer and product line, so you can research exactly what protects your home. This is that list.

The Paint

Dunn-Edwards EVERSHIELD® — Our standard exterior coating — on every home, every time. A 100% acrylic, ultra-premium exterior coating formulated and manufactured in Phoenix for desert sun, stucco, and extreme heat. One paint, one tier — no good/better/best to navigate. It is what other companies sell as their top option.

Dunn-Edwards SPARTASHIELD® — The matte option — same warranty, same price. If you prefer a flat, matte finish instead of EVERSHIELD®'s standard sheen, we use SPARTASHIELD®. It carries the exact same workmanship warranty and the same price — it is simply the matte version of the same commitment, not an upgrade or a downgrade.

Primers — Matched to the Surface

Primer is what the finish coat actually bonds to. Using the wrong one — or skipping it — is one of the most common reasons a paint job fails early. We match the primer to each surface.

Dunn-Edwards EFF-STOP® PREMIUM — Masonry primer sealer — for raw, unpainted stucco. Seals bare masonry and blocks efflorescence so the topcoat bonds to a sound, sealed surface.

Dunn-Edwards SURFACO® SELECT — Chalk-binding primer — for chalky stucco. Locks down residual chalk on weathered surfaces so the finish coats bond to a sound surface instead of loose powder.

Dunn-Edwards ULTRA-GRIP® PREMIUM — Multi-surface bonding primer — our all-purpose primer. Bonds to bare wood, fascia, and hard-to-stick or previously painted surfaces where adhesion is the challenge.

Zinsser PEEL STOP® Triple Thick — High-build binding primer — for peeling, flaking eaves and OSB. Binds down flaking, weathered paint and builds a smoother surface where old coatings have failed — our go-to on distressed eaves and OSB, and anywhere a failing surface needs locking down before it is topcoated.

DRYLOK® EXTREME — Masonry waterproofer — for water-holding surfaces. Used on stem walls, below-grade areas, and horizontal surfaces that hold water — parapet tops, equipment-wall tops, and sill ledges.

RUST-OLEUM® STOPS RUST® — Metal primers — clean-metal and rusty-metal versions. We spot-prime metal with the correct version — Clean Metal Primer for bare or lightly rusted metal, Rusty Metal Primer for heavily rusted areas.

Sealants — the Right One for Each Joint

Sika SIKAFLEX® 1a — Window-to-stucco joints. A paintable, one-component polyurethane that bonds aggressively to both vinyl and stucco and stays flexible as those materials move at different rates. Topcoated with EVERSHIELD®.

DEC PLUS Siliconized Acrylic — General caulking — gaps, joints, and penetrations. A professional-grade paintable sealant for general sealing. We never use 100% silicone on surfaces to be painted — paint will not adhere to it.
